Default Got it! Inland spouse application

I can finally post a GOT IT!

I've been checking my e-client daily for the past month. It finally changed
over this morning to "decision made." It had been showing my maiden name,
and it didn't recognize me this morning. My heart started racing, and I
tried logging in under the married name on my PR application. Decision
made!

Here's the messages on my e-Client:

We received your application for permanent residence on July 18, 2003.

We started processing your application on August 15, 2003.
Medical results have been received.

We sent you a letter on August 15, 2003. If you have not yet provided the
information, please do so as soon as possible.

We received a letter from you on August 27, 2003. Thank you for providing
the information.

We received a letter from you on December 03, 2003. Thank you for providing
the information.

We sent you a letter on February 16, 2004 about approval in principle for
you to become a Permanent Resident of Canada.

We sent you a letter on February 16, 2004 about the decision on your
application.

Good luck to everyone else still waiting! It's so worth the wait! (Now I
can start rushing Canada Post instead of CIC...LOL).

I'll update this thread once I actually get the letters so you'll know what
you might expect in your own cases once you reach the decision made stage.

Renee :)

Thank you, everyone. :)

I should probably have waited to post a Got it! until I had the approval
letter in hand...or until I got notice of my landing interview, but I was
excited. :)

215 days is a long time.

I will be hanging around. Once I have a job, I will have a lot less time to
be online, but I'll try to check in regularly. I'm usually home all day, so
I can jump on the computer whenever I want.

Best wishes to everyone!

Renee :)

Congratulations Renee!

We sent the inland spousal application on July 15, 2003 but we receive
nothing so far and we can't find out application on e-client, either.

Do you know when you can be a PR after you get your AIP? Do you need to
apply for work permit now? Thanks!

Default Re: Got it! Inland spouse application

Hi Lily,

I have to wait until I get these two letters before I can definitely say
anything about how long it will take to become a PR. My e-Client had two
separate messages about AIP and the decision, so I'm anticipating (hopefully
correctly) that I will receive my final approval when I get these letters.

My understanding is that I will have one more letter to wait for - the
scheduling of the landing interview. I've read posts on this board that say
that the landing interview letter comes about two to three weeks after your
final decision. I don't know for sure. If the only progress I made was
reaching AIP status, then I would consider applying for a work permit,
keeping in mind that it's taking almost two months to get one, and the final
decision could come before then. It may make more sense to just wait for
the final decision and save the $200, depending on your home country and how
long they normally take to process a background check.

Like I said in another post in this thread, I probably should have waited
until I had the letter in hand...I was just too psyched. :)

I'm not sure if it's you or your husband who is the applicant, but try using
both your maiden and married names in e-Client. My first clue that I was at
"decision made" was that it no longer recognized my maiden name. I applied
for PR in my married name, but when I first got my CIC client number, it was
under my maiden name when my temporary resident visa was first issued. I
knew it wouldn't update until the decision was made on my PR application,
even though my newest temporary visa has my married name on it. Also make
sure you're formatting your date correctly. I messed that up in the
beginning. *blush*

Your decision should be coming very soon. The only reason I received
anything before these two letters that are on their way is because they
wanted more information about my work history. Otherwise, I wasn't
expecting to get anything until the AIP stage. You don't get an AOR for an
inland case.

Good luck!

Renee :)

Where you able to leave the country in the meantime? Did they give you

Thanks, Vanessa
