Default Got approved yesterday for K3 from Vermont

I got a big surprise today, my K3 was approved from Vermont! I've
mis-typed case numbers before and got false positives leading to
irrational exuberence etc., but I bought out the offical USCIS
paperwork and typed the numbers in carefully five times in a row, and
lo and behold:

Application Type: I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR
ORPHAN

Current Status:

This case has been approved. On March 15, 2004, an approval notice was
mailed. If 14 days have passed and you have not received this notice,
you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address,
please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283.

Of course, I am royally confused, the K3 seemed to have beaten my K1
in MSC by a country mile, and the USCIS very own timeline for Vermont
states that they are processing K3 applications from May 1st, 2003. My
K3 application was submitted on September 15th, 2003, so I'm
scratching my head over this one.

But hey! I don't need to understand anything - I'll just go with the
flow if the K3 approval is really, truly approved and isn't a product
of my tortured, fevered imagination.

My fiancee remembers all too well the last time I told her it was
approved and it turned out to be a mistake, so I'm going to wait for
the actual letter in my hot little hands before I tell her and can fax
it as proof.

I guess this makes the K1 a moot point and I'll eat the fee I sent
them for nothing, but let them have it. I hope they use it to pay for
extra cigarettes for their numerous smoke breaks or whatever.

Of course I'm not really sure what to do now, since I'd prepared for a
K1 approval and not a K3, but that's for tomorrow when I curl up to
the K1K3 FAQ!

My timeline for those playing at home:

Vermont k3

NOA #1 September 15th
RFE Feburary 3rd
NOA #2 March 15th (If it is really true!)

First of all, congratulations :D

But i'm a little confused. Did you
file for a k1 or a k3 visa? And as far as I know, the only service
center which approves k3 visas is MSC/NBC, not Vermont. Vermont
approves k1 visas.

(Of course, I am referring to the I-129f, whether
that would be for a k1 or k3 visa, ultimately the embassy abroad will
approve the visa)

Just wondering???

Your post is as confusing as you seem to be.

You don't have a K-3 and a
K-1 pending and/or approved.

You had an I-130 pending at the Vermont SC
and a K-3 pending at the Missouri SC.

Your I-130 has been approved ...
NOT THE K3 which is the one in Missouri.

Believe your confusion stems
from the fact that the K-3 and K-1 both use the I-129F (Fiancee Visa
Form).

Congratulations. Much much better to have the I-130
approved.

But then again reading through your
post you appear to have a Fiancee and not a wife so who the hell knows
what the hell you are talking about ;-( Apparently you don't either
LOL

Please come back to earth and try to explain clearly what you filed
and for whom.

There must have
been a marriage certificate in there somewhere if Vermont actually
approved the petition. But funny he calls her his fiancee. Why does
the status refer to the petition as "Immigrant Petition for Relative,
Fiance, or Orphan" if there is no such thing as an immigrant visa for a
fiance and the form isn't used for fiancees?
