Default Good Restaurants for Wedding Anniversary in Chicago

We are visiting Chicago for our Wedding Anniversary which is on
Feb14th Valentine's day . We are staying in Palmers Hilton in LOOP.
Are there any good restaurants (with a romantic touch) nearby to our
stay which serve chicken recipes. We eat only chicken in non-veg food.

Thanks for your suggestions in advance.

Those restaurants are probably all booked up for that date. Check with your
hotel concierge for any openings. Or you may want to visit
www.chowhound.com

Huh? How do you feel about chicken in veg food?

Try chi.eats.

My advice exactly! Tho, I'd check chowhound.com - Midwest Board first
to get some ideas, then call the Concierge asap. Happy V-Day! (if
this doesn't work, you can always have a romantic dinner served in
your room ;-)

Right in your hotel, how about Trader Vic's? Twenty years ago, anyway,
it was a perfect embodiment of 1957 retro-Tiki, simply because it had
been there continuously since1957. I must admit I haven't been in Vic's
since moving to the West Coast in 1987, but back when I was alive, it
served me in good stead as a place to take dates with a sense of humor.

I love Trader Vic's, but wouldn't dream of going there for the food. It
might not be so bad, but you never know. Italian restaurants are usually
romantic enough; Trattoria No. 10 is right near the hotel, as are the
various Italian Village restaurants (can't vouch for either, but they
come well recommended). Greektown is a short bus or taxi
ride away, and nothing says romance like flaming cheese appetizers.
Costas is my favorite--it's at Halsted and Van Buren--and their chicken
dishes are superb.

The restaurant guides at chireader.com and metromix.com should have some
good last-minute recommendations.

Google any of the following: Charlie Trotter, Topolobampo, Frontera
Grill. Charlie Trotter does a vegetarian tasting menu. Topolobampo
and Frontera Grill (same owner) both have vegatarian and chicken items
to choose from. Go nuts.

You may be too late to get reservations. Ours is the same date and we've
given up trying to go out unless we have an idea what we're going to eat six
weeks out. The same was true even in Ireland two years ago, and only our B&B
hostess calling in a favor with a restrauteur friend netted us a table.
