the paper work was fine, but than she said you can go. No visa and no
more info, just you can go. i kept asking her thats it, what about our
visa, all she said was "we will review your papers and get back to you".
I asked her how long this review would would take, all she said was
"your guess is as good as mine" and walked away. Is this the normal way
they give the visa, to review the papers again and again. I thought if
all your paperwork was in order and both the US citizen and the
intending immigrant checked out ok , the visa was given the same day.
Before anyone says it is because my husband is a saudi, and this is the
reason for it, my husband is not a saudi.

Hi:
I've been at this for 28 years -- and I
will tell you that ConOff was pretty forthright, honest and polite with
you. I tend to believe the ConOff in this one -- she thinks the case if
just fine, you did everything OK, but the file has to be reivewed and
she has no idea how long it will take.
In my experience, if there is
something wrong, the ConOffs will tell you what the problem is, and if
it something that needs further action on the part of the visa
applicant, they tell them.
The Riyadh consular section is under a
microscope these days for obvious reasons and they are looking over
their shoulder. Also, I wonder [this speculation on my part], the
Homeland Security Act authorized overseas DHS "zampolits" with review
and veto power over visa issuance. I seem to recall that Riyadh was one
of the first places to get such DHS people [and this annoys ConOffs, but
I digress].
Wait a bit and see what happens -- to be honest, you have
no choice at this point in time.
