Getting visa for parents?
Hi folks!
I am an American citizen. I will be getting married in August. My future wife
is both Turkish and American citizen, and we want to invite her parents to our
wedding. Her parents live in Turkey and don't have green card and they are
above 60 years old. Considering her parents' age, we just want to do the best
we can so that her parents get visas from the American embassy in Turkey
without any hassle and back-and-forth travel.
I recently heard from others that it would be easier for them to get visas if
we send invitation. I am new at this, and a bit blindfolded. I don't know what
the procedure is.
My question is; how do I send invitation? Do I call the American embassy in
Turkey, or do we send the American embassy in Turkey a letter saying that our
parents will seek visa for our wedding? Or do we send the invitation to our
parents and then they take the invitation to the American embassy? How is this
invitation thing done?
If you have any other suggestion on this matter, please feel free to enlighten
me.
Thanks
