GC via employer and specialty-matching
Hello,
This is a question about employment-based GC application.
Imagine a person who has, over the course of the years, specialized in
some field. Based on his specialty, he *could* apply for the GC
through his current employer (i.e. it would be difficult to find a
U.S. citizen with equal skills, experience, etc.)
But then he has to switch jobs and has the opportunity to work in a
very related field, but for a company that doesn't utilize his
specialty as much, and instead uses his other experience that, unlike
his specialty, more U.S. citizen may have.
Does it make sense for this person to take this new job and try to
apply for GC there?
Or does it make more sense for this person to find a job that will
*really* require this specialty and experience of his? Would that
make the GC application process easier?
Thanks!
