further personal information (after the sumbitting date) and application stopped?

A letter (signed by a designated immigration offier) I received today asked
me to provide further personal information (working/residence history since
the date application was submitted) in 60 days, if I fail to do so, then the
officer will refuse my application. I have no problem to provide such
requested information for their verification (and in fact, I already send
them the information 1 hour ago), but in the letter, it says "I have stopped
all processing of your application", what does this actually mean? They
stopped other background checks or they have completed such checks but need
new informtion to conduct further background check accordingly? I received
an interview waiver back in April, my guess is they should begin background
checks since that time, not now.

It is most likely they begin the background chech after they received
your health check results.
