Default From H1B to asylum

Hi Everyone!

I am on an H1B visa since one year now. I went back home last month and
I was persecuted because of some politic activities that I started when
I was in my country. I am thinking about applying for asylum. I wanted
to know if the application for Asylum will have an impact on my H1B in
case the asylum is rejected? did anyone know such a case? any input is
welcome.
Thanks
