Default Form 47SK- Money to bring in OZ

Dear All,

I am about to put my papers to DIMIA for 136 skilled visa. I am an
accountant from india. One question in 47SK asking about money to bring
in OZ. How much money i should write over there to bring in OZ. I can
bring only 7000 AUD. Is there any chances of refusal of application in
i mention low money to bring there? DO they check the money we bring
actually with what we mentioned in application?

Please give me replies.

Regards,

You need to show all the money you intend to bring with yourself when
you migrate. Ie your total wealth that you intend to live on for 2 years
as you dont get social security payments. I think DMIA want to see how
long you'll be able to support yourself without a job. If 7000 is all
you'll have at the time then thats what you'll have to put and see if
what happens. Probably the worst is that they'll ask for a bond but i've
never heard of that happening.

Do DIMA Take that into account when making a decision on your
visa or not ?

They do - expecially if you are wanting to claim the 5 pts for capital
investment. But i havent heard of a refusal for not having enough. Other
more veteran users of BE may have heard.

Hi Guys,

First, q.24 has to be answered honestly, but I haven't seen any checking
of the answers, although it's obviously quite easy to do, should DIMA
decide to start.

Second, I have seen people refused because they didn't have sufficient
funds to support themselves here. A$7000 is a bit low, I think.
There's no magic formula, but case officers might be guided by whether
it's an occupation in demand which will allow the person to start work
immediately, or whether it's an occupation which will require a
transitional period.

Cheers,

George Lombard
