Default For Mr. Miller

Mr Miller:

Thank you for your help with earlier question. I already stated that
we applied for PR (Canada) in Jan 2004, and after that we applied for
non immigrant visa and received it in April 2004. I will be working on
my master's degree in canada and my wife received open work permit. I
am just wondering if she secures a job in Canada, will she be able to
claim points for that? I know that you said the processing time for
buffalo can be from 16 to 30+ months. But I have heard that buffalo
has one of the fastest processing time for PR application. Is it true?
I will be in Canada in August 2004, and i am just wondering if there
is a way i could get assistance from you, if you do immigration
consulting?

Thanks

DK-

Me and my fiancee' applied for PR for Canada. We send our application
to Buffalo, NY in Jan, 2004 and received a confirmation letter in 10
days with our File Number. We both have degree from the US, myself has
a degree in Electrical Engg. and my fiancee' a Master of Science. We
just got married a few weeks back, but have not send the marriage
certificate because we are not sure if this will delay the processing
of the application??? Also, we received the non immigrant visa a few
weeks back to canada and moving there soon. Will it effect the
processing of PR application in Buffalo?

How long should I wait for the PR application to be processed? Please
help. I would really appreciate that.

If you applied together then you should submit marriage certificate
immediately, just to prevent delays that may occur when processing
officer
needs to assess your relationship. Non-immigrant visa won't affect
your PR
case at all.

Processing time depends from many factors and you should expect it to
be
anywhere between 16 and 36+ months.
