Default For Kids Turning 14

I spoke to another lady whose son turned/turns 14 this month and asked
if she filed to have her son fingerprinted. Her son received his
greencard earlier this year. I'm quoting her here:

No I didn't go...was told
the same thing by several people at BCIS
that if he signed his greencard and has his right index print on
there that he doesn't need to have the FBI prints done.

I've got all their names down in the event that one day I have
problems with this.

Hi:

Out of idle curiosity, why are you delaying in turning in these people
for giving wrong advice? I don't approve of your apparent motivation
that if you LATER have problems on this issue you plan to retaliate
against those people who gave the bad advice.

Personally, I believe that the better thing to do is to make sure that
correct information gets out.

Me, I plan on going in to file for my son's at our local service centre.
He will be turning 14 in January. I was told at our service centre that
we had to file for fingerprinting and as well it has been mentioned
here. She on the other hand deals with another service centre (east
side). She has been in several times to enquire about the problems that
she has been having in obtaining her daughter's greencard. She said
she's asked a couple of times there about fingerprinting for her son and
each time she's been given the same answer but by different people so
she doesn't know what end is up.

Forgot to add. She deals with a large district office so I'm surprised
that they are telling her this. Surely they must have dealt with the
same situation numerous times.

Hi:

You can "e-file" an I-90 for $185 plus $70 after the child turns 18 --
then she need only go to an ASC to get fingerprinted and photographed.

The OP seems to want to avoid that.
