A friend of mine in the US ( US citizen) has a penfriend in Thailand.
They tried to get her a tourist visa so she could visit over here, with
no success. The lady in question is middle-aged, has a family in
Thailand, a good job over there, and owns property. She has no
intention whatsoever of "doing a runner" and overstaying her visa, she
genuinely just wanted to visit someone she's been writing to. My friend
here can't go to Thailand due to disabilities.
The authorities are really clamping down, by the looks of it. Good luck
with your application, but don't get too optimistic.
