Eventhough filing taxes is voluntary but they make it a law and many
facilities are provided for you to file taxes. If you live outside of
the country you can get $80,000 exemption on your income. I suggets you
file taxes and not avoid it becuase avoidance can put you behind bar if
they cannot find anything else. If you are a GC Holder then you have to
file taxes in case you need to get citizenship in future, if you are a
citizen then it is required that you file every year and if you live
outside of US, you also get grace period of two months to file. Most of
the gangster were caught on Tax issues but not on real crime they
committed.
