Default fee waiver granted but fingerprinting fee not granted, does this slow EAD & AP down

hello there....

Just as a recap, the fee waiver for AOS for my wife was granted for I-
765, I-130, I-131, and "probably I-485".

We did however receive a letter from BCIS indicating that a
fingerprinting fee of $50 was not included with the I-485 and that the
application would not be processed without it.

I really don't think that they noticed that I requested a fee waiver for
the fingerprinting fee as well (perhaps that fee cannot be waived)

I didn't want to get into a whole moaning match with BCIS about the $50
fee as I was obviously thankful enough for the rest of the fee waiver so
I just scrapped the money together and sent them a check.

My real question is, will this slow down the EAD and AP as well until
they receive the check?

This is a bit outside my current experience but I do know that they
can't finish processing the EAD without some form of biometrics, should
think that it would be needful for the 485 as well. A current poster on
the K3 EAD rollcall thread had his bios done for the EAD and AOS 3 weeks
ago. To my knowledge he hasn't gotten anything back yet.

No problem, in some form or another, we're all in this together!

Good luck!

The fingerprinting fee you are talking about is for clearance for the
AOS and is not the fee for the single digit fingerprint for the EAD.
Although in some cases the biometrics office will do both fingerprinting
on the same appointment date, they are two separate and distinct
processings and for two separate and distinct petitions. Not 100% sure
of this but since the EAD does not require a processing fee for the
single digit biometric and only the AOS does, then your EAD should not
be delayed by this.
