Default Family based immigration question

My mother who has been a Naturalized US citizen for the past 8 years
had petitioned for my sister(I130). All the steps were completed,
including medical and at the final interview in the Embassy, the Visa
officer had denied it. The reason he gave was that my mother had
stayed at her home country for more than six months. Now, my sister
was the last person to immigrate to the US, and her husband works in
a rural area, my mother was staying with her in the city so that she
does not have live alone.

She has not appealed yet and my mother who is here in the US now has
written a letter to the Embassy explaining the situation. I am not
sure if you guys can think of any strategy to help. Appreciate all the
help in advance.

Talk to congressman/senators and
explain your situation. If all
requirements were met including
affidavit of support etc., they
may reconsider the situation if
the congressman or Senator's office
forwards your letter with all
necessary information.

Additinaly, talk to an attorney also.

Sounds to me like some honest misunderstanding, although I don't know
the details, but like Ujjwalc said...Write Congressman and Senator, and
an attorney...good luck!
