Default F1-case approved..what's next ?

Hello ! I received a letter from INS saying that my case to exchange
status from J1 to F1 is approved . The case was approved on 11/30 . I
received their mail this past Monday ( I wasn't in the city , so I found
the mail a bit late ..like 3-4 days late ) .

Now I need to know what I have to do to keep myself in status
....Today ( 12/12 ) my J1 expires . I made an appointment with the
new school on Monday ... When will I be entered into SAVIS ? Am I
legal right now ? I'm confussed ...Do I have to send INS my old I-94
? Please help ! Thanks a lot .

Hey there,

I'm trying to do the same thing later this summer. Was it easy? What forms
did you have to file? Didn't you have to leave the country?

Let me know, I'm going to be there soon!
thanks

USCIS is supposed to handle your record in SEVIS correctly. (Ever since the
school created the I-20, you have had a record in SEVIS.) You can find out
from your school's international office whether the SEVIS record is correct.
This does not always go smoothly, but the SEVIS help desk (at headquarters
in Washington, D.C.) will help to correct the record if USCIS has made an
error.

Yes, you are legal right now. You must register full-time for the next
available term at your school.

They further say " this is an important document he/she must submit with
any future applications to this service ..... " = But I DONOT have my
I-20 ...Who has it ? I'm confussed again . I received the answer from
INS.. I e-mailed my lawyer and she said that from here the international
student advisor will take care of me .... but i'm scare they may not
know what to do as it happened to me b4 .

" An updated I-94 is included in the lower portion of this notice .
each applicant must surrender his/her i-94 when leaving U.S. "

Problems : I don't see any new I-94..all i see in the lower part is
Immigration service address and a mark - same like the code u scan the
products in a store so it comes up the prioce .... (((

Please help me with this if you know ! Thanks a lot for the
