Default expired passport valid H1B new passport ?

hi
I am here in US on H1B visa valid till 2006 . when I came back from
my last trip to UK the immigration officer gave me I-94 valid only till
March 9th 2004 ( my passport expiration date ) .
now ,
I got new valid
passport from Consular in US .my question is ?;

1. do I have to travel
with both passport( expired with valid H1B and new valid passport) when
travel abroad US in order to return ?
2. I am off to London for a week
March 3-March 9th . will I be givin new I-94 on my return to US with my
new passport?
3. what additional documents should I have when travelling
abroad US to return here

Please help with any advise?!

The airline should take the old I-94 and you should get a new one when
you return. Travel with the old passport and visa along with the new
passport. Don't try to transplant the visa to your new passport. It's
good that you're getting out before the I-94 expires. If you stayed one
day over, then your visa would be automatically canceled.

If your
petition has been extended to a date later than what appears on the visa
itself, then travel with the petition as well. Other that that, all you
need is a valid visa and a valid passport.

Yes! Is the same thing as driving with an expired driver license. Is ok ok to
travel with it expired? NO! So you need to have your valid at hand. About the
other expired pspt... what is your status for reentring? Isn't it the H1B? So
you need to prove it to INS (and the transportation company). You will need to
carry BOTH passports until you get a new VISA on the new passport!

Yes... and for the next entry will give you at least 6 months!

Let's say the pspt is your travel document, but considering the present world
security situation, you may also have something like a driver license, Id from
the company you work for.... you may be questioned by the transportation carrier
and also by INS... just have in mind. If you have some more info on you... that
might clear some doubts INS may have about your travel!
