You'll excuse me for saying, but your post is the weirdest I've seen in a

Also, even given the fact that many of our younger American and British
posters have only a casual acquaintance with correct usage, his English
is not exactly fluent.

Tersely put, he says a small number of Americans make a large number of
weird postings.

He says it in a weird manner but doesn't justify calling the original post and
its ilk 'weird'.

I would say that this thread's original post was simply dumb. Nothing so
complex or even meritorious as 'weird'.

Sure, could be a language misunderstanding on oystein's part. But even apart
from that, his construction was fuzzy/strange and deserved to be called weird
because of its susprising awkwardness and redeeming content. Sometimes a heady
