Default emergency question

I have a question that needs to be answered as soon as possible. I'm an
American who lives in Norway, and I and my husband have just been asked to
leave, the problem is my husband. He holds a passport from another county,
and I don't know know how to get him a fast visa or if it's better to try
our luck as him asking for asylum. He was from Algeria and left because of
the violence there.
Does anyone have any answers me me of what we might do?

Contact your Consulate's visa unit (Oslo) and ask them.
http://www.usa.no/services/immigvi.html

If your husband has legal problems in Norway, they may become issues
impeding his entry to the US as well.

What are the circumstances around "being asked to leave" the country?
Are you legally resident there?

I would certainly think that marriage to a US citizen will be more
useful to him than an asylum claim.

This is the marriage based board, also www.visajourney.com

I do not know what your time lines are but you are taking about months
at least, possibly a year, all depends.

The fastest route if you are eligible would be what is know as DCF where
you file at the Embassy in Norway.

He would need to remain in Norway for the interview.

If he claims asylum in the US then he better bring his toothbrush.
Asylum seekers can expect up to several months or more in jail while
waiting for a decision.

Depending on how he tries to enter the US, he could end up with a
lifetime bar as well.
