See notes from April May this year - at the time Calgary was the place
to go and visa same day!!! Good luck. However for current info why not
visit the consulate pages and see what they say. Better safe than sorry.

Samsam - have to tell you, looking back at the last few pages you are
asking some real off the wall questions about all sorts of situations.
There is a huge amount of data out there on the WEB in relation to the
rules around visa, SS, EAD, LCA. Why not do the research first and then
ask questions if you have a problem - the reason i say this is that we
may give advice that is not current and then you will be in trouble. I
would think that you can file 100 LCAs without problem, but you should
test that. Anyway why would you want two LCAs,or more, filed at the same
time. One job is enough to get your visa!

Hi All,
I am leaving for the US next week. Can anyone tell me if there is
anything I need to prepare for? I was told that since this is my first
trip to the US I may be grilled at the immigration when I reach US.
Also, can I carry external drives and such? Would they plug it in to
check the contents? I was planning to backup some software and movies
(I do not want to carry CDs and DVDs as I am already having excess
baggage and also that E3 is a non-immigration visa).
TIA

Basically, be "reasonably" upfront. You don't know what is showing on
the screen in front of you and what they are seeing.
In general, they might be interested in knowing about your employer,
your job, what you will be doing, the city you will be living in, what
your wife will be doing, and etc. I would prefer to be consistent with
all the info given to the Consulate in answering them.
Also, if your employer happens to be a big company and they have hired a
good lawyer company to do the paperwork for you, this will likely help
your entry process, too.
If English is not your first language, it might help structuring some
ideas in English in case they ask you questions. I did in my case but
they only asked me a couple of basic questions upon my recent E-3 entry.
You are allowed to carry external HDDs with you. Fortunately, their X-
ray machines seem to be able to distinguish between a brick-shaped metal
object and an HDD, so HDDs probably would not be much of a security
concern. But just my personal opinion that if I were to do so I would
take them with me in either my drag-on or carry-on bags. They have the
right to examine your HDDs to their satisfaction, though.
Congrats in advance.
Regards,
fld.
