For those interested in the green card. I filed for my first E3 in July
2005, and a second concurrent E3 was filed and approved in August 2006.
I filed for a green card in June 2006 and it was approved this week.
The USCIS never challenged me as to dual intent status - so it is
definitely possible to use the E3 as the path to a green card. Good luck
to all of you.

Wakkas, might be heading over to your state soon, might have to catch up
for a beer or two

I've had the E3 for just under 1 year and well it's time to see if
the grass is indeed greener on the other side working for a new
employer. Can anyone who has successfully transferred the E3 visa
to a new employer tell me about their experiences and paperwork
involved please ??

I am guessing the following paperwork will be required:

- Job Offer
- CV / Resume
- Copy of Degree with US certifications
- Recent payslips maybe ?
- I-94, copy of existing E3, SSN etc;;

I want to make sure I have all the paperwork handy as I left some of the
initial stuff that was applied for the E3 back home. If need be, I can
at least get it Fedexed over quickly.

Thanks

thanks for bringing that up coz i intend on changing my employers after
a year - please let us know how you go. also, do we really need to show
recent payslips for the E3?

i have never been for a visa interview - a silly question: since the
e3 is for professionals, does this mean that we have to dress formally
for the interview?? - does it have any bearing on the outcome?? - its
going to be summer soon in sydney and i would much rather go in a t-
shirt & jeans.

Hi Anna,

Since he already has the E3 visa, its a matter of getting it transferred
to the new employer. From what my prospective employer is telling me,
it should not be a major hassle as getting the E3 visa would have meant
that due diligence was conducted in the first place.

You definitely do not need to go back to Australia to get an E3
transfer. I will be hearing from the prospective company's attorney
within the next week and I'll update as to what documentation and
process needs to be followed.

Cheers

Hi thething,
Did you acctually get the GC, or do you now have to go out of the U.S.
to a consulate? Or do you adjust your status from the U.S.?
Thanks

dependant or are you on your own? It seems that I as a dep. have to
onvce again go through the Work authorazation card process which takes 3
months. IN the meantime Im not allowed to work.
Anyways, good luck to ya!
cheers

Hi,

Okay heard from the attorney today asking for the following information:

- Passport copy
- SSN back and front copies
- 3 paystubs from previous company
- copy of back and front of I-94
- Resume and copy of transcripts with educational equivalency and degree
copy
- Signed copy of new contract

Apparently from what he said, there is no premium processing and so it
can take a few months to get it approved, might have to spend X-Mas over
here in the states then.

I'll get the paperwork sent off next week and then see what happens..

I do not have a dependent so at least there is less paperwork to
fill out
