I think you have every right to 'whinge'. I would be absolutely fuming.

It has to go to the National Information Service at Scotland Yard.
Technically, they have upto 40 working days (Data Protection Act) to
reply, but they seem to have speeded up no end. What I would do is send
the £10 charge by postal order (no waiting for cheques) We took ours
to the Police HQ and handed them in. I noticed you were getting close
from other threads, probably the last thing you need. I have a job
waiting, and usually most employers are quite understanding, although
you are further advanced than us. BUt the agent should have picked up on
this before (in my humble opinion)
Good Luck anyway.

Is it same job he has got in Aus. If so they are not just gonna pick up
a fully experienced police officer down the job centre. Whoever they get
will need to either give notice or, if they are advertising in the UK,
get a visa. Either way they will get your husband quicker.

Ours took 9 days!

If they readvertise on the 1st Feb it will take 2 to 3 weeks to get
applications in and then they have to go through them all and then
interview and possibly 2nd interveiw, by which time your daughters pcc
will be back and scanned over to your co and your visa granted.

I doubt any thing will make you feel better right now, just trying to be
a little positive for you.

It's a job with the government! Ironic eh? He got the offer early
December. Hopefully things will work out?
Thanks for your words everyone. I just can't bear the waiting. Good luck
to everyone that all their dreams come true this week. Isn't it amazing
the fluctuations in depth of feeling that this process can make?
