Default defacto visa evidence help

I have been with my girlfriend for just over a year now and for the past two
months we moved to Perth to stay with her parents, I want to get a defacto
visa sorted out as soon as possible but the only problem is because we lived
with my parents/her aunty and uncle, we dont have much in the way of
evidence that we have been living together for the past 12 months, We also
would struggle to rent atm.
My girlfriend is an australian citizen but I am currently on a working
holiday visa,
does anyone have useful suggestions on what we can use as evidence for our
application to be sucessful?

cheers

Hi Adam,

I would strongly recommend you contact a migration agent to talk this
through - every DIAC office has its own culture and standards and you
might get helpful advice from someone who went through the relatively
relaxed standards in London or the frighteningly restrictive standards
in some parts of the third world, and get entirely the wrong idea. If
you really don't want to engage an agent even for an advice
consultation, you should call IARC in Sydney on 02-92811609 and ask
whether they have a sister agency in Perth for this kind of basic
advice. Or you could look at their website www.iarc.asn.au .

Cheers,

If you don't have a joint bank-account you should get one going ASAP, become
an additional cardholder on her credit cards etc. Make sure any other
accounts/phone bills or anything either of you have is showing your parents
address etc. This will go towards proving that you're both living at the
same address and share your finances and stuff. That will only get you
started however, i'm told the defacto visa is the hardest partner visa to
get. Basically they want to see that you are comitted long term partners,
not some boyfriend/girlfriend 'i like your shoes and want to touch your
boobies' highschool kind of relationship :P
