Default De facto visa granted while holding student visa ?? Cancelled student one ?

Hi,

I would like to ask questions regards de facto and student visa of my
partner.

Right now, I am Australian PR and live in Sydney.

My partner is studying a course and gonna finish in Dec 2006. We have
just lived together for 4 mths but I plan to do de facto visa for him.
Thus, he thinks about finding another course so that he can extend his
stay.

Now, he holds second student visa after study here for almost 5 years.
First diploma at TAFE and current diploma at private school. For his
new course, he will study elder care that can help him to apply PR by
himself. (in case there is anything happened between us or I need to
leave Australia before he is granted PR) Do you see any problem for
his third student visa and now he is 34 years old ?

Once we already live together for one year, we will apply de facto
visa.

Let see timeline below.

Aug-06 Start living together
Dec-06 Finish his current diploma (second)
Mar-07 Student Visa Expired
Mar-07 Attend new 2-years course
Aug-07 Apply de facto visa
...
...
... I leave Aus permanently.
...
...
Aug-09
...
...

What if temporary visa is granted after applying de facto visa, how
does it affect
his student visa ? Can he hold 2 visa at the same time : student and
temporary visa ?

What if .. during 2 years bridging (after getting temporary visa), I
need to leave Australia
and not back in the meantime before PR gonna grant to my partner, Will
his temporary visa be cancelled ? Does his student visa still affect ?

Anything can he do to keep himself in Australia ?

Can he apply PR by himself during bridging period ?

In my opinion, once be granted temporary visa his student visa is
deactivated but immigration
may put condition that he must finish his course. And if I leave Aus
before PR granted to him,
he will lose temporary visa if immigration found that we do not commit
to live together anymore.
This will force him to leave Australia with short notice timeframe.

Anyway, please give me your opinion.

Cheers
Boom
