Default Consulate visit ?

Hi,
The situation now is as follows:
1)I have a Canadian work permit
2)I also have a valid US work permit (H1b) and I-94 (both valid till
sep,2009)
3)I am employed by and paid by the US company.
4)I am currently on project in Canada through the US company
5)I got a new job offer from another company in the US and my I-797
petition approval notice has just been received

The question is:
Do I need to go to the US consulate in Canada to get my visa re-
stamped ? If yes, I dont see an appointment in the next 6 weeks . Is
there some process available(extra fees, etc) which could get me an
earlier appointment ?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Mits

If you have an H-1B visa then you have an H-1B visa; you can use it to
apply to enter the USA as an H-1B. If you're going to be working under
an approval notice other than the one referenced on the visa (for
example, if you're going to be working for another company) you need
to show the approval notice at the same time as you show the visa and
make sure they understand you're entering on the new notice.
