Default Citizenship Test to Oath, how long?

Just receive a letter to attend Citizenship test in Vancouver. If you
took citizenship oath recently, please share with us the waiting time
between test and oath(especially for Vancouver office).

I know the wait will be between 2 and 5 months. Just wonder whether
things are back to normal and they are clearing backlog now after the
work slowdown/strike last fall. The number of grants according to the
Monitor fell by 30% in 3rd quarter last year.

Here's my timeline:

20 May 2004: received application
03 Jun 2004: began processing
10 Jun 2004: transferred to Vancouver office
30 Aug 2004: submitted evidence of physical residence and passports
copy as told
23 Sep 2004: submitted fingerprint form
22 Feb 2004: to take Citizenship test

Thanks

Peter

Hi,
Just curious:

1) what kind 'evidence of physical residence' did you submit, (did
they ask for something specific? )

2) did they ask for a copy of ALL the pages of your passport?

Thanks very much

Sorry, but this type of question is, in all reality, irrelevant as (a)
you may not have the documentation the other person had; (b) what may be
suitable evidence in the case of one person may be unsuitable for another.

As long as you have YOUR proof of physical residence (and if you were
physically resident in Canada, it would be extremely rare for you to not be
able to provide this), you'll be fine. As for the passport, they do ask to
see each and every page.

Then your current passport is all you can take in, along with other
documents. What documents? Whatever pertains to your residence in Canada.

1. Pay slips, T4s, property assessment, utility bills, airline
boarding passes etc. One full stack. It must have impressed them quite
a lot.

2. Yes, they do. I probably fit the profile of an "astraunauts" which
they are trying to catch.

I also got fingerprinted. Thought it was going to take a long time but
it only took 5 months. Of course I had my fingerprint done immediately
after receiving the "spooky" letter.

Btw, I had the above documents(including fingerprint form) submitted
by person to the Citizenship court(200-8700 Expo Blvd). That saves
some time.
