This question has been answered thousands of time already. Just search
for posts with a similar (or the same) subject heading.

Here is mine:

Applied in Nov. 2003.
Application received by CIC Centre in Sydney on Nov 12, 2003.
Confirmation letter and "A Look at Canada" received on Jan 20, 2004.
File tranferred to local CIC office in London, ON on Mar 5, 2004.
Notice to appear to write the Citizenship test received on Apr 21,
2004.

Test on May 4, 2004, 20 questions, all were from the book. Tests were
graded on the spot and marks told us before we left. At the test a CIC
officer told us that things were moving much faster because of the
elections, and we should expect to be sworn within a month.

Indeed, notice to appear at the Citizenship ceremony received on May
11, 2004.
Ceremony on May 28, 2004. All in all, 6 1/2 months, not bad. I was
lucky not to be asked to do fingerprints.

Also, I found e-client to be of very little help. Info there udpated 1
to 2 weeks after it was received in the mail. The only useful piece of
information was the file transfer to local office that wasn't
otherwise communicated.
