Citizenship Application
I live in Ontario and applied for Canadian citizenship. When I check my
info on e-CAS, I find the following ...
----
We received your application for grant of Canadian citizenship (adult)
on May 28, 2004.
We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application, and a
study book called A Look at Canada on May 28, 2004.
We started processing your application on November 03, 2004.
Your file was transferred on January 04, 2005 to the Citizenship and
Immigration Operations Ontario office for the citizenship testing and
taking of the citizenship oath. The Citizenship and Immigration
Operations Ontario office will contact you to write the Citizenship
test.
----
In March 2005, I received a letter from the Ontario office requesting
that I send in all evidence regarding fulfilling the residency
requirement (bank statements, leases, mortgages etc). First question
.... does everyone get this request???
I had a couple of months to send this in and I did by mid May 2005. It
is September and I have heard nothing further. e-CAS says the local
office will contact me for an interview date. Is there a backlog in
Ontario right now? How long is usually the wait??
Please help...

Re: Citizenship Application
thats becoming normal these days, if u notice, the steps to becoming
citizenship has also been changed on cic website...third last is taking
test, they say, after test, you may be called for an interview, and
then the oath...
my assumption is all this delay is due to those fuc*ing Americans
pressurizing us...not realizing that Canada is the country of the
future and no one wants to come to your robber-land.
same thing happened with me too, i submitted all pages of passport,
leases, tax returns, corporate returns, community letters, letter of
reference, etc. each time when i applied for PR card, when filing
citizenship application, and then with residence questionnaire, and
still i got the interview and they asked exactly the same thing in
it...
so, stay put, and pay the price of being a neighbor to some bloody
robbers...you shd do just fine

Re: Citizenship Application
about the timing....it normally takes 4-5 months after u submit the
questionnaire to have the interview or hearing scheduled, in ontario,
and then about 3-4 weeks for oath after the hearing...total process
from the date of citizenship filing...if hearing took place is approx.
18 mths.

Re: Citizenship Application
Thanks so much for your reply. Actually e-CAS does not say I will be
contacted for an interview, but rather that I will be contacted for the
test and oath by the local office. It said that before I got the
residency questionnaire, and it still says that today. I submitted my
documents in May 2005 for the response to the questionnaire and its now
about October, still nothing from them. I think you are right about the
pressure from the US causing all this delay. If its 4-5 months then I
guess I should hear from them in the next month or so.
Did they call you for an interview after the questionnaire, or where
you called for an interview after you went to take the test? Also did
all that show on e-CAS?

Re: Citizenship Application
I've known of two families applying at around the same time, living
around the same area, they got called for the test six months apart. So
there's no way to predict when you'll get your call.
Interviews after doing your test are very rare.

What do you think?
Hi everyone!
I am newbee on this forum and I really like to be here )))
Now could you guys help me with this?
My BF is an iTunes subscriber. He purchased some songs for me. And, of course, I cannot play them on my PC or burn to a CD because they need to be converted.
Now I'm looking for a converter that will convert itunes songs to mp3. Please recommend me one you used.
Thank you!
