Default citizenship

I know one has to be in Canada for 3 years in order to qualify for citizens=
hip. Does it matter what status those 3 years were under. Could a part of t=
hose 3 years be without having PR and just sponsorship from an employer?

Thanks.

You need to accumulate at least 1,095 days of residency in Canada as a PR
within 4 years immediately preceding citizenship application. Time in Canada
before becoming a PR may be counted as long as it is within those 4 years
preceding citizenship application and is counted only as half (1 day = 1/2
of a day) and only for up to a maximum of 1 year.

Thank you Mr. Miller. Just had a followup question.

How long does it take to process the citizenship application.
