Default Child Migration Issues

Dear All,

I would be thankful to hear from all who have undergone the process of
applying for child migration/sponsorship.

We have our PR visa granted (Oct 05) and validated (Apr 06, a short
trip
to Perth), and now we are expecting a child in December. As much as I
would have liked to move to Australia before the birth (and hence avoid

all the hassles of new application/fees/running around and the added
incentive of the child being a citizen by birth), somehow my present
professional
commitments force me to make a move only by April-May next year.

Can somebody show me the way for the following queries:

1) As I understand form 40CH and 47CH is what I should be looking at
and also be prepared to pay application fee in the
region of AUD 1305 (as per latest form 990i). It also mentions related
health costs of AUD 300. I did not understand this related health costs

of AUD 300.Is it payable along with the application fee of AUD 1305.
Any pointers please.

2) I understand that I have to provide documents/evidences of
supporting the child for the first 2 years (especially as I wont have
access to welfare funds for this duration). But does it also mean I
have to lodge some bond etc as Assurance of Support (AoS etc). In short

does the total costs involved in the whole process, be
1305(application fee, as above) + 300(related health costs as above) +
miscellaneous(getting medical tests done etc for the child)?

3)Based on recent experiences, what are the expected timelines of being

granted the child visa.

4)I suppose ordinarily there are no hiccups in getting a child visa, if

the supporting documentation like financial proofs etc are in order.
Any personal experiences of do/dont's would be highly insightful.

5)I suppose this whole issue of child visa ultimately means that once
granted, the child is also a PR holder just like us, with the same
eligibility of citizenship (period of stay in Aus etc) applicable to
him, as it would be to his/her parents.

Thanks all for reading this.
