Default Car Insurance - Ontario

Can someone help me with recommending Auto Insurance Companies in
Ontario. I have tried and all of them ask for a "Letter of Experience"
from the Insurance Providers in US. My US Insurance company tells me
it will take 3-4 weeks to get that and I cannot wait for as long since
I commute accross the border everyday and need to get Ontario License
Plates for my Car.
Any suggestion/Advise.

Thanks,

Raj

Try your US branch of Canadian company (ie: statefarm).

What I did was get a 'no claim certification' from my US insurance
agent (not the insurance company). Its simply a letter stating that I
have not initiated any claim ... and use that as proof when I applied
at State Farm.
I also brought receipts proving that I was insured for the past 5 yrs
in the US. State Farm says they consider drivers who has good and
clean driving record for the past five years. I also brought with me
my driving history which I requested from the state DMV. They gave me
a rate which is a little bit higher that what I was paying in the US.
But then I live in the suburb before, right now I live with in toronto
Area.
