Default Canadian Refugee Question

I read an article recently about Americans (specificly soldiers)
applying to the Canadian Immigration and Refugee Board. I am curious
myself what are the chances of an American born citizen being accpted by
the Canadian Immigration as a refugee?

The question would be, what are you running away
from in the US? You are going to have a hard job explaining that to
immigration canada.

Next to none. Out of about 280 US nationals claiming refugee status in
Canada last year none was granted protection, all claims were rejected.
Canadian soldiers also serve in Afghanistan and other parts of the world, so
if an American is seeking refugee status on the basis of not being happy
with military service he or she signed up voluntarily in the first place
then IMHO there is not a chance.
