Default Canadian immigration and HSMP

I have applied for canadian immigration from Islamabad (Pakistan) in
2005 and my application is "in process". Now as canadian immigration
takes around three years, i also intend to apply for HSMP as it
processes quickly but i want to make Canada my permamant home once i
get the immigration. I want to inquire is it possible to apply for HSMP
when canadian immigration application is in file? and will my applying
for HSMP effect my canadian immigration process?

Waiting for an early reply.

thing in Canada ? NOPE !
Sounds like a country hopper to me. Sorry but does not sound like any sort
of legitimate immigrant to me.
