Canadian Immigration and Advance Parole
I applied for Canadian immigration in the year 2000. At that time, I
was not sure if I will be able to apply for US immigration. It took
long time for me to get Canadian immigration approval and couple of
days back, I and my wife received Canadian landing papers.
I also applied for US Green card and I am on I 485 pending approval
staus. I have valid EAD and advance parole documents to travel.
My questions are:
1) Since I invested lot of time and money in Canadian immigration, I
and my wife would like to land in Canada and complete the formalities
and come back to US.
Is there any risk to my AOS/green card processing if we go to Canada
on the Canadian immigrant/resident visa and return to US on Advance
Parole.
2) While returning to US, if I am asked by US immigration why I went
to Canada, is it OK to tell them that
"I have Canadian Residency and intend to keep this option open till my
US green card processing is complete. I Will terminate my Canadian
residency once my US green card processing is complete"
My intention is not to keep the Canadian immigration once my US Green
card is approved. Appreciate your advice. I am planning to go to
Canada soon and come back within 2-3 days.
