Default Canada PR Application

Greetings Every one.

Can some one please help me on this

1.On Sep 302003 I mailed my application under skilled immigration and it
reached the candian consulate Buffalo,NY USA on October 1st.

The application fee till Sep30th2003 was US$360 and under the guide
lines and they changed to US$400+ after October first

Any guess what will happen to my application, will i fall under
old category.

2.currently they are processing(intial) nov 2003 application but mine
was 1 month earlier and didn't heard a thing so far

When should i except some thing

Lot of anxiety, waiting going on?any little help or advise is much much
appreciated

thanks

You should check if your fee has been cashed in - if it was then you are
fine and nobody will ask for more. But if it hasn't been cashed yet then you
may expect package returned.

I always recommend paying fees in Canadian dollars - cost of getting draft
or money order in either currency is the same in most banks, so why take
risks?

1. I don't know, but if they think you need pay more dollars, they will
return your package first and let you resend later.

2. same situation, I'm waiting too. It may depends on Nationality I
guess, that's why soem people got it soon, some were not.

I also guess that the timeline at Buffalo depends on the type of visa you
are on in the U.S. H1B might be faster than J-1. THis is my guess.

Type of visa in US has absolutely no impact on the processing time of any
Canadian visa. Your guess is wrong.

I contacted the bank where i got my money order and they told it was
cashed on the octber 10th2003.so that means , I should not worry of
resending application etc.

BTW with my Intial application I didn't sent my Medicals or police
records.Will it impact anything.

Thanks for your advise

If you applied in economic category (Skilled Workers or Business class) then
you need to wait for initial assessment and medical forms before you can do
medicals.

But as far as police certificates go - you should have submitted them with
the application and your case may be put on hold until you submit them. The
only ones you shouldn't submit with application if you applied through
Buffalo are police certificates from Canada, Hong Kong and US (if you still
reside in US) - police certificates from all other countries you resided in
must be submitted with application. If you haven't submitted them then you
may experience additional delay of several months.

Yes you guessed correct ,I applied on Economy category.

I lived in 3 different countries.

Now i am not sure to send my police records because i don't have any
reference for my application.some where i read do not send till they
request,I cannot recall right now.

Can you please advise what to do , so that my process will move better.

Please advise

Thank you

GVR

What really puzzles me is why you don't read and follow instructions
published for particular visa post before doing anything? If you would have
done it you wouldn't be in the situation you are in now. The reality is that
your application may have file number assigned and then put on hold until
you submit missing documents. But you won't know about it for months as the
wheels of the system are rather slow. You need to get all police
certificates (except FBI if you continue to reside in US) and wait for the
file number. Once you get file number then send certificates in.

The next question will be - what else you missed or messed up with your
application by not reading and following instructions?
