Default Can you immigrate to Canada while continuing to live in the US?

I'm a grad student in the US on an F1 visa. My F1 expired in the
summer, and I wish to immigrate to Canada. However, I still have a
couple of years left in my grad program, I am curious to know whether
I can apply for Canadian immigration and still continue to live in the
US? Any input on this would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

You should have no trouble applying because it can take well over a year for
the Buffalo consulate to process your application. However, you would need
to land within 12 months of the date of your medicals. Once you land, you
will need to meet residency requirements to maintain PR status.

Good luck,

Jerry

well, if your F1 expired you are collecting unlawful presence days.
Once you have 180 of them, you will be banned from USA for 3 years

you can continue to be illegally present in the USA until you are
