Default Can I start my own company with a EAD?

Evening folks....

A Quick question, can I start my own company with a EAD? reason being,
where I live (and the surrounding towns) there is nobody who does computer
repair, and seeing as that is what I did in the UK, it makes sense to do it.

Other then that, its a great day here in Southern Oregon, its been raining
cats and dogs most of the day, and it reminds me of England :) never thought
I would miss the rain, but I do...

Hi:

The EAD does NOT obligate you to enage in paid "employment" in any wa-
y. Possession of an EAD did not strip you of the ability to form your
own business.

Hi Jay, that's exactly what I've done, equally on an EAD.

Take a look at www.sciotomicro.com

I wish you the best of luck if you go ahead. IMO starting your own busi-
ness is one of the best steps you can take, but be prepared for some ha-
rdship too.

Maybe we can compare marketing ideas etc.

Dave

Hi Gaylord,

My husband is self-employed (i.e. has his own business) on his EA-
D, as well.

Best Wishes,
Rene

Wow - I didn't realize you were so close to me. I'm in Ashland, KY. I
had a small, home-based PC repair business when I first got my EAD. It
seems to be one of the more popular businesses for those of us with an
IT background. Good luck to you!

Ian

How did you guys promote your business, I am in the same field of exper-
tise and have helped friends and relations already with their computers.
Is it all done via newspaper ads or is there a better way to promote su-
ch a business.
Hopefully in the next few months I will have my EAD and can start somet-
hing like that.
Patrick

I just wanted to wish you luck! Now that we've returned from Ireland,
I've just started my own business... it's been a month, and I've been
working every day (now waiting for the checks to start rolling in!!!).
It's scary and also wonderful... can't wait to hear how you get on!
