Default Busy events in Copenhagen & Malmo

It seems that most of the hotel rooms in Copenhagen will be taken by
the Furniture Fair and International Fashion Fair. Okay, but will this
extend to Malmo too, i.e. will Malmo run out of hotel rooms during
those times?

Malmo is only about an easy half hour train ride away, so if the
hotels in Copenhagen becomes busy during these fairs it could easily
effect Malmö as well. But as a number of new and large hotels has been
build in Copenhagen in recent years , I would think the hotel
situation in these peak times has improved a lot.

Actually, it's a good point. There is somewhat of a mental barrier
from Denmark towards Sweden, but not the other way. So the yearly
festival in Malmö may use room capacity in Copenhagen, but I doubt
that the effect the other way s that noticeable.

And as Kristian notes, the train connection from Malmö to Copenhagen
is quite excellent now (wasn't always so), so it's a genuine option.

What festival is that? Do you know the dates for 2005?

Ummmm - that would be this one:

http://www.malmofestivalen.se/in_english/

Dates for 2005? A reasonably safe bet would be 2nd to 3rd Friday in
August. Don't ask me why they decide on ending the festival on a
Friday.

It's pretty big for the town - all town is involved, and everybody
participate. Quite a good experience.
