Default Bonus Point ???

Dear Everyone,

I have applied a Skilled Visa ( subclass 136) with required pass mark
120.
At the lodgement time, I calulated my total points as follow:

Skill: 60
Age: 30
English: 20
Specific Work Experience: 10
====================================
Total: 120

At that time I have not taken IELTS test and assume that I will 6 on
each of the 4 components ( speacking, reading, writing and
listening). However, after that I fail to do that and my english ability
can claim only for 15 points.

Now I am going to claim 5 bonus points for fluency in Australia's
community language.

I have a degree and university letter . The language taught in my course
is listed in Australia's community language . So could anyone advise me
that I can claim for those points even after I lodge my application ?

Thanks in advance !!

Lee

Hi Lee,

I am NOT an expert, so please don't be disheartened by this reply.
I don't *believe* you can claim extra points after you have applied.
I sincerely hope that I am wrong about this, but I guess you can only
wait for one of our resident experts to answer your question.

The reason I am uncertain because page 43 of booklet 6 states, "to
receive these points, you must include *with your application* a copy of
your degree....."
but page 57 states, "Additional information can be provided (in writing)
at any time until a decision is made on your application. All relevant
information is taken into account".
If you haven't got it already, booklet 6 is here:
http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/booklets/1119.pdf

Good luck,
RT.

You can claim the points as long as your application has not been
assessed. However DIMIA will have its own view about what language your
university will have worked through - if it's English the points will
not be granted.

Write to DIMIA mentioning your file number. Use a secure delivery
method (eg courier).

Why did you not claim these points when you applied (it would have been
a lot simpler)?

The qualifying points score is a date of assessment criterion, not a
date aof application criterion.

Hi Westly Russell,
Thanks for your reply. Do you know when DIMA assess an application ? Is
this in the end of process ?

No, I don't, but sometime between the date of application and the date
of decision.

I do know that once points have been allocated the decision cannot
be revisited
