Hello,

I would like any advice on hotels in Berlin and Prague. I will be in
Berlin for 3 days and Prague for 7 (2 people). (I may also need a
room for one night near the Brussels Airport).

I'm not looking for anything fancy, just safe and clean. I would like
to keep it around 40-50 euro a night (or less, if possible) and I
might bring my laptop (internet access is a plus, but not that
important).

I have (and still am doing) some research, but a lot of my google
searches are pulling up old messages. So, I would love some advice
from this knowledgeable group.

I will be doing the usual site seeing (going to pick up a guide book
later today) and I will probably go out every night, so I'm sure that
will effect where I stay.

So whatever you can tell me about a decent hotel would be great, and
would it be better to book from home (I'm in the USA) or just go
there. I will fly to Berlin (so maybe I can book from the Airport)
then train to Prague, if any of that matters.

Try th Ibis hotel. I stayed in the one near Alexanderplatz for 39
euros a night. Mind you, this was last July so the prices may have
risen since. If you aren't familiar with it, it's kind of like the
Holiday Inn.

For Berlin (I just replied with the same to another post) try www.hotels.de
but be sure to look at the map to see where the hotel actually lies--they
can be a bit away from center, though sometimes there is nothing wrong with
that.
