Default B2 Visa question

My fiance and I are planning to spend our 2 week honeymoon in the US. We
are both UK citizens and I can travel under the visa waiver program,
unfortunately my fiance was convicted on driving without insurance 4
years ago so therefore needs a B2 visa.

I basically want to know what documents he should be taking to his
consulate interview, how long the visa is valid for, chances of getting
the visa etc.

Also, we were in canada in 2000 and we crossed over the border for a day
no problem at niagara falls, he didn't have a visa (because at the time
we didn't even know he needed one), so will this stand against us.

We shall be flying into Las Vegas, is this a particularly hard place to
enter through?

I'm sorry if these questions are dumb but this is going to be the most
important holiday of our lives and I don't want it ruined

Driving without insurance is not a Crime of Moral Turpitude, and I doubt
it makes you ineligible for the Visa Waiver program. I know because I
also was convicted of this about 10 years ago. I have been to the US
about 14 times using the VWP and never had a problem. I now have been
issued a green card and admitted all my traffic offences to the US
Embassy. They were not even interested and certainly did not mention the
fact I had used the VWP. I really wouldn't be concerned about a traffic
offence. I spent the best part of 2 years thinking I would be refused a
visa because of this and

Thanks for your reply, I keep going through phases of worrying about
this and then not, I guess I'm in a worrying phase!!

I phoned the consulate to ask whether his conviction counted and they
said it did so he needed a visa,

If we were going for just an ordinary holiday, I'd probably just risk it
but this is one I don't want mucked up!
