Default Australian wanting working visa

Hi,

I'm a 25 year old female Australian currently working for HP in Australia.

I'd really, really like to spend a year working in Canada but I have no ski
experience so ski slope work is out. I also have a place I would like to be
based in as I have close friends there and the point to the year work in
Canada is to spend time with them. I would have accommodation etc with
them.

How hard is it for an Aussie to get a 6 or 12 month working visa?

Any help is appreciated.

Actually, as long as you've had hospitality experience, you're fine.
Ski resorts have many positions that don't involve skiing, though I'm sure
while you were working there, you'd learn how to ski or snowboard.

Coming from Australia, it should be relatively simple. You're certainly
within he age requirements. Visit the Canada Immigration web site at
http://www.cic.gc.ca for more information.

Good luck from this Toowoomba boy.

Hmm, seeing as I'd like to be in a certain area (Brooks, Alberta), rather
than a 'tourism'
area, will that affect my chances of getting a visa?

I've had a look at the website, but the information I'm getting is not
giving me a lot of hope.

from the website;

These steps must be followed before you apply for a work permit:

1.. An employer must first offer you a job.
I think I might email the consulate here in Sydney and see if they can give
me any advice.

Thanks for replying

Not sure if you've seen this site, but it might be helpful:
