Default australia - working on 457 visa questions?

Hi everybody.
There is a possibility for me to come and work in Australia on a 457
visa.
There is a contractor who will pay for the sponsorship ( the quota of
the company offering me the job is full) and I will have to pay them a
7% annual fee for that service.
I searched the forum about living expenses but i get confused.
The possible job is in Sydney.
I would like some help from you guys on building my realistic
expectations.
I will try to come together with my girlfriend ( possible future wife
if I cant prove the relationship)

Based on the assesment the "contractor" did there is a minimum salary
requirement - 58,500 $ (Australian) annually.

The contractor told me that these are the taxes I will have to pay -
$58,500 minus 6% Payrol Tax minus 7% fee
& then 9% superannuation is calaculated from my taxible income.
12870$ - tax

I checked the Australian tax website and the numbers were different
there.
17. 334$ - tax
This estimate does not include any applicable Medicare levy, Medicare
levy surcharge, Higher Education Loan Programme (HELP), or Student
Financial Supplement Scheme (SFSS) liabilities.

Am I missing something - I dont get it? Which one should be correct?

Lets say I take the second estimation of my taxes -
this leaves me with 3430$ per month.

3430$ minus 1500$ for rent = 1930$
1930$ minus 900$ (food, internet, car, traveling) = 1000$

Do you think my calculations are realistic?

I know everything is very subjective but still there should be an
average monthly sum two people can live with.
I am living in a small country in East Europe which is very different
compared to most of you who have lived in the UK.

In general I am interested in all the negative sides of everything
connected with Australia so I can be realistic in my expectations.

I would be really thankful for any kind of info.
Thanks in advance

Hi Mischiza

Few too many questions all at once I think. It's the sort of thing your
solicitor or migration agent should answer. Has the contractor put you
in touch with their solicitor?

Might be an idea to get some independent advice as well. The company has
an interest in paying you as little as possible. From what you say I
think there is a bit of creative accounting in what they're telling you.
