Asylee Travel
Hi there
I was granted asylum, however, prior to entering US, I resided abroad in country other than my own country to which I claimed persecution. This was an issue with the immigration officer who denied my claim based on the grounds of Third Country Resettlement. However, on appeal the IJ granted me the asylum, because the conditions and the type of resettlement on that country was so bad that it could not be characterized as an offer of residence.
The questions troubling me is: Im from a country A, prior to entering and seeking asylum in US I resided in country B. It is clear that I was granted asylum based on my country of origin which is A, however I refused to ever been resettled in country B. I have a travel document and would like to travel and visit friend can I travel to country B without any trouble from the immigration services? Since one should not travel to the country where one claimed persecution, does that means I have two country of origin?
Please advise and or give your input.
Thank you
