Default application fee

In the instuctions it is said that the application for FEderal Skilled
worker of $ 550 (Canadian) can be made in other currency. I am applying to
Buffalo. Would it be acceptable to check the current exchange rate and
calculate how much it will be in the US dollars and then send the money
order for that sum?

Thank you in advance!

No, it is not OK. You need to check with Buffalo visa post what is the
amount of application fee in US dollars at the time you are submitting your
application. BTW - it is always safer just to get draft in Canadian dollars,
instead of gambling with the exchange rate. You may see a fee today but by
the time Buffalo opens your package fee in US dollars may be different and
entire package will be returned. You need to get draft or money order anyway
(personal checks are not acceptable), so what's the problem getting it in
Canadian dollars?

Of course they do. Ask for draft in the amount of CAD 550 made to "Receiver
General for Canada" and payable at Canadian bank. Your bank will know what
to do.

Mr. Miller,

I did not check yet with my bank, but do the US banks issue money orders in
Canadian dollars?

Thanks,
Elena
