AOS Approval...by phone at 6:40 AM
My husband is finally approved, we finally managed to get all of the co
sponsor paper work turned in. My husband turned in the needed paper work
on the 18th, however the officer was out sick. We haven't heard anything
back, so I got a little worried and made my husband an info pass last
Friday, his appt was to be this Wed. This morning, at the butt crack of
dawn, our officer called. She asked my husband when he turned the papers
in, and he told her the 18th when you were out sick. I guess she has so
much paper work on her desk that she couldn't find my husbands. She told
him if it's not on her desk that she must of approved it. Then she asked
for his A number, and said it was approved and he should get his green
card within 2 weeks. My husband really wanted his passport stamped, but
the officer said they dont do that anymore because passports expire,
something to that nature. Well, if it doesn't come in 2 weeks at least
we have a cell number to reach the officer (if she answers). I just want
to thank all of you that helped answer my questions..Thanks Again!

CONGRATS :)
BTW was there not a recent memo saying that they still will be stamping
passports? Did I misread that posting?

That's what I thought too, it would have been nice to get his passport
stamped for the comfort factor. I've read here that some people get
their green cards fast and others wait for almost a year. I guess
without the stamp no trips abroad yet, not that we have plans. He really
wants the green card or stamp so he can get financial aid for school,
hope it comes by spring time!

Well that would really suck to have to wait for a year to get a green
card, I would hope for people that are not getting stamped they would
set them to the head of the line, no point in approval without the green
card OR stamp.
