Default Anyone waiting for RSMS visa

Hi All

I have joined the waiting game again.

We got our 457 visa in July and came out at the end of July. Work then
decided (after my probationary period) that they would apply for PR for
me and did the relevant paperwork. Last Wednesday, I sent of the
application.

I have had a letter today saying they have received my application for
RSMS visa which are currently taking 4 - 5 months.

Does anyone know how long they are really taking. The problem is that
the employer requested full meds which were done last June and the
police checks came through in July. I believe these are only valid for
12 months so it is going to be tight.

Re-do your police checks to be on the safe side.

As they came through at the beginning of July and we flew at the end, do
we get UK or Australian police checks. Also, how long are the medicals
valid for?

Both. They are not difficult/expensive to do.

Normally 12 months. Sometimes only 6 months. In any case, temporary
visa medicals are not always accepted for permanent visas. Be prepared
to do medicals again if asked.

We too are in Bunbury and waiting for RSMS!!
We had acknowledgement on the 7th November.
We were also told it would be 4 to 5 months.
Good luck

Hi

We are also here on a 457visa, and have applied for 136MODL, acknowledged
11th October. We got our Police Clearance on 18th April last year and
arrived in Oz on 15th May. We are also concerned that our Police Clearance
may expire before we get our CO, so my husband phoned and asked our agent and
also ASPC and they both said if it does expire we will only need to get
Police Clearance done here in Oz.
I hope this correct!!!

Good luck!

When we had the meds done, we went for the full wack because the
employer asked us to. Cost a fortune so hopefully won't have to have
them done again.

Hi Sue

Have you heard anything since the acknowledgement letter? What are you
doing about your meds and police checks? Would be great to keep in
touch so that I can track your progress and know we are a couple of
months behind.

We sent medicals and police checks to our agent in December, but haven't
heard anything yet.
It's back to checking emails every five minutes!!
I'll bet you know how that feels eh.
I will let you know if we hear anything.
Sue
