Default Anyone successfully include aged parents as dependent

Hi Everyone,

Has anyone in this forum successfully include their parents in their
visa application?

Any suggestion or advice on how to go about it?

I'm on 136, any advise really appreciated.

Cheers

Didn't think you could do that.

Hi Matt,

You can only include one, under restricted conditions.

And with risks. If that parent has a health (or character) problem, and
you win the argument on dependency with DIMIA, your own PR visa may be
refused under the "one fails, all fails" rule.

I applied (136) and parent was refused - I believe from what I have
read on the forum and various agents opinions - it is a miracle if you
are successful with this.

It's really difficult.

For almost all cases the most realistic route is to look to see if the
Contributory Parent visa option can work after a few years, if parent
meets the requirements.

There are exceptions where some other route will work, but these really
are *exceptions*.

Hi Everyone,

Thank you all for the response. For those who were rejected by DIMIA,
what was the reason given?

Is it due to health or insufficient evidence to support the
dependancies?

And for JAJ and Kitty4 : How do you go about with your application
after the dependant was refuse?

Do you have to pay for a new visa application?

Cheers

I believe it is mostly based on evidence - doesn't go as far as medicals
unless the dependency is accepted, but then if the parent had a health
problem, you risk being refused as well. I think there would have to be
extensive evidence of the type of dependency and absolutely no other
relatives existing in your country of origin - even ones who you and
your parent may not ever see/like/get on with - as these will be deemed
to be able to look after the parent. If dependency is refused your
submitted application should still go ahead for assessment I think. I
would advise that if you want to pursue this, a really good agent is a
must but I think most would say it is unlikely - it all really depends
on your personal circumstances.
Good luck.
