Australia Australia is geographically the sixth-largest country in the world, and the only one to occupy an entire continent. Living in such a large country makes is difficult to find other expats. Connect with each other here.

Question any interest in grave care service??

Hi,

I'm thinking of setting up a grave care service for ex pats who have no-one to look after the graves of their relatives in the UK. Before I take it any further, is this of interest does anyone think??

Regards

David

Default Learning about the Institute Examination Program

So what is the CLEP? it's a established program by the College Board which can allow students to get college credit at many major universities including Yale and University of New York. There are a number of exams in dozens of subjects including English Composition and Education.

Having taken some of the examinations for myself, I can attest to their validity as an excellent program to get very cheap credits. Read a textbook on the subject; I read a text on Sociology. The next step is to apply for a proctored examination through a test center. Check the College Board website to search for testing centers in your area. Depending on the location you live around there might be up to a dozen various testing centers. Each exam costs around $55 but there is often an additional fee stipulated by the examination center which often varies in price.

At the examination center, you will have to check in with the program coordinator. You will be led into a room with computers which run special software. The examinations are all done on computer and offers participants unexcelled flexibility in taking the test. One can go back to questions, mark them to look over, skip questions, see the number of questions one has reminding or any number of other operations. The software also features a calculator should you be taking a proctored math test.

One of the nations leading colleges which accepts Cpllege Level Examination credits is the Monterey Polytechnic Institute. Mont Poly is a private college in Monterey, CA which offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate degrees specializing in Business, Professional Development, Public Relations, Human Relations, and a number of other fields in the arts and sciences. Prior learning degree programs are also available. Monterey Polytechnic's flexible schedule of lecture and correspondence courses are uniquely suited for working adults. Monterey Polytechnic is known as one of the most respected, student centered, and cost effective universities in the nation.

So, why should you try it? If you're a senior striving to finish up degree requirements, if you are an expert in your field of study and want recognition for it, or if you simply want to bypass the ridiculouslarge costs imposed by universities then University Level Assessment Curriculum is for you. It is very cost effective, usually only $80 for the exam and a processing fee that is almost always under $25. It's definitely a great way to get college credit based on what you already know without sitting through an university course for a year. If you take chemistry in High School, for instance, there is no corresponding AP, but for college credit, consider taking the CLEP. It's one day of your life and only 90 minutes long. In addition, you'll find out if you pass immediately. Typically a score of 50 is good enough for credit for most colleges. You should check with your university for acceptance information.
