Default America's Future?

AMERICA'S FUTURE?

Complete article at: http://www.washingtondispatch.com/article_8391.shtml

What is America's Dangerous Future?

In tomorrow's America of suffocating political correctness and clashing
cultures, unrestricted immigration will prove a merciless weapon of war. It's
importing conflicting languages, barbaric rituals, deadly diseases like
tuberculosis, cultural antagonisms and loss of a cohesive national identity.
California is our national harbinger of things to come. It is called Third
World Momentum.

The Roman Empire fell to immigration of the Vandals. Likewise, Celtic Britain,
Germany's Prussia and Serbian Kosovo.

I traveled to Los Angeles recently. I felt like a stranger in my own country as
few spoke English. Whole areas have been turned into city-states of foreigners
where Americans are not welcome. I might as well have been in China, Korea,
Mexico or Bangladesh. All businesses carried their own languages. One store
near Garden Grove in Los Angeles, Aztlan Gallery, featured anti American
T-shirts, 'DECOLONIZE: UNITED STATES OF AZTLAN' and 'GO BACK HOME GRINGOS'. The
voting ballot offered 20 languages on it for the governor recall election.
Whose country is this, anyway?

The country is still yours but we are here to stay and if you don't like
it -- go invade some other country for yourself. Oh wait, you already
doing it...

Or maybe you can learn some other languages to feel more
welcome in California. Also, there are many forums like this one but in
different languages, at least you would be able to post your worthless
opinion over there as well….

I do not agree with you that the opinion is worthless. There is no
point in flaming someone who has put so much effort and thought into
this opinion, just because it points a finger at immigrants.

I am an immigrant too, but I believe in keeping an open mind on these
arguments, and try not to take it personally.

However, the author of the original article needs to understand
something more fundamental. Human beings have always been moving from
one place to another. Not exactly nomadic al the time, but masses have
always migrated periodically, and I think that is what keeps the world
moving forward. The title of 'most advanced civilization' has moved
from Greece, China, India, Britain, and many other places, including
the current America, over the history of mankind, and surely it will
keep moving in the future too.

American society has flourished due to immigration. Look at most of
the famous individuals in any field who were Americans, and you will
find that in most cases they are also 1st or 2nd generation
immigrants.

About polluting the American culture: Typically, immigrants tend to
come in and obey the local laws, and follow the local norms because
they are still coping with unfamiliar surroundings and change of
culture, and they tend to reduce the variables by trying to
assimilate. It takes some time for these laws and cultural norms to
become a part of their personality, but this is provided by the time
needed to settle down in this country. I agree that in the recent
times, perhaps a decade or so, there has been an unusually high volume
of immigration into this country. If immigrants meet their own kind
more often and in larger numbers, the need and the speed of adapting
slows down.

Add to that the fact that US foreign policies and the influx of
american corporations into overseas markets has been a catalyst in
people being more focussed on holding on to their cultural values and
rejecting the local norms.

This discussion could go on forever, but the summary is, there are a
lot of dynamics in play here, not just the immigrants. And I don't
think that shutting the doors to immigration is going to be the silver
bullet for all the problems.

You are so correct but now it is not and it is because of illegals and
third world immigrants. We are expected to support the world's poor.
That is not our job.

You apparantly don't know the first thing about Mexican illegals. The
fact that they illegally crossed the border makes them a criminal from
day one and they stay a criminal as long as they are in this country.
Then of course the legal ones that expect this country to speak their
damn language and allow them to do things they are used to doing as
they did back in their home country. They do not follow the local
norms at all. As I said, you don't understanhd about all the different
immigrants and illegals that come marching inot our country.

You are confusing two issues immigrants and illegals. Ask

Not confusing a damn thing. There are illegals. And then there are
legal immigrants that receive welfare. What is your damn problem? We
are not getting as many highly educated as we are third world people
with no education and depend on the government for handouts. BTW, if
you honestly think we need more immigrants then you are sorely out of
touch with reality.

Indians are unable to control their breeding, hench one billion people
in a country one third the size of the United States. The United States
is giving these people work visas and visas to bring in their families.
This country will resemble India very soon. The city in which I reside,
resembles Inida already. This country will go to shit, fortunately I
have found a way to make money off these people.
I will be opening a Toyota dealership, as ninety eight percent of Indians
drive Toyotas.
